Painting idea: Carnival society
Split
Concept and execution: Johanna Schneider
This time we want to work with stencils and try to paint the picture mainly with areas and few lines.
Step 1

First, the sky and the earth were primed with color. Then, a stencil was made for the flags.
Step 2

The stencil can be used repeatedly.
Individual flags from the stencil can also be used. We alternate between different Seccorell color powders for the flags.
Step 3

We connect the flags with a line.
Now individual carnival figures are painted. I lightly suggest the outlines of the figures with lines using Seccorell paints. All areas can be depicted using the typical "wiping technique" with Seccorell.
Step 4

Now I'm making two more stencils: one large circle for the balloons, and then a small circle for the costume of a carnival character. We can paint different colors on top of and over each other so that the layering creates blended colors. That's how the balloons will be painted, and the dress as well.
Step 5

Now the balloons are given "lights," which are created using an eraser. The background is then painted around the carnival figures, and afterwards, the blue paint is removed in places with the eraser, so that some snowflakes appear to dance across the picture.
The shadow on the ground is painted with blue, violet, and black. Faces, hands, shoes, and the balloon strings are drawn with a paint stick.
I also used an eraser to lighten the outlines of some of the figures in certain places to bring more light into the picture. Now our picture of the fun carnival group is finished!
