Head, heart and hand

Painting with Seccorell does not require an elaborate studio situation. As neither water pots, brushes nor fixing spray are necessary, you can easily create wonderful designs on almost any type of paper.

From an educational point of view, the use of Seccorell offers some useful advantages and effective areas of practice:

1 When dosing the amount of abrasive powder, foresight is required: How much do I need? How much can I process?

2. the rubbing of the pigment on the abrasive and the subsequent brushing and wiping painting correspond to a basic human need: something is destroyed and then redesigned.

3. skin contact during painting creates closeness to the developing picture.

4 Ideally, all fingers are used for the different color tones. This helps to train the basal senses, whose lack of development is often lamented. This can also be used to practise body geography and combined with a small attention exercise: "Which finger is it now?" - "The green one, the ring finger fits!"

Craft epoch 3rd class

In Year 3 at the Waldorf School, the focus is on crafts and trades, among other things. When building a house, farming, baking, forging, pottery or twisting ropes, the children experience first-hand how simple materials can be turned into useful things through their own actions.

The craftsmen's era gives them an insight into old crafts and allows them to understand the world of practical things in a new way.

Experiences can also be captured creatively: Whether tools, work processes or self-made objects - with Seccorell, these motifs can be easily and effectively captured on paper or in the epoch booklet.

This creates a visual memory after a practical experience, which can deepen understanding and the relationship to one's own activity.

Animal science 4th grade

In Year 4, natural history begins to look at the animal kingdom - always in comparison to humans. The octopus is an example of the so-called "head animal": a highly sensitive creature that perceives with its entire body, reacts at lightning speed and can protectively wrap itself in a cloud of ink.

This special quality can be made impressively visible with Seccorell. The painting technique enables the floating lightness in the water, the soft movements and the mysterious nature of the octopus to be sensitively captured on paper. Color gradients and light moods support the experience - without any brushes or water.

This creates a lively approach to the animal world, in which sensory perception, artistic design and content-related learning are naturally combined.

Plant science 5th grade

Seccorell has long been an integral part of creative work in schools and educational institutions. The children "work" directly with the pigment through the skin contact of their fingers, experiencing color through movement, differentiated pressure and rhythm - all in the spirit of Waldorf education, which helps to connect head, heart and hand.

In Year 5 at the Waldorf School, the children encounter the plant kingdom in all its diversity - from simple moss to fully developed flowering plants. The dandelion is a good example of this: radiant, translucent, full of expressiveness.

Seccorell allows this quality to be depicted with particular sensitivity: The gentle wiping technique brings light gradients, flower structure and the characteristic shape of the dandelion to life - directly in the epoch booklet, without the need for brushes, water or fixative.

Field fairs 10th grade

Seccorell also proves its worth when drawing up field measurement plans - an integral part of Waldorf education. The individual areas can be colored easily and quickly with this painting technique to enable the clarity and differentiation of fields, arable land, forests and paths.

The wipe painting technique applies color quickly and evenly to paper - clean, color-fast layouts are created without any water or fixing spray. Applying paint with your fingers promotes concentration, fine motor skills and a sensual, artistic relationship with your own work.

Practical tip: After thoroughly working in the color powder with your fingers, it is advisable to wipe over the colored areas again with a cotton pad to fix the colors. Any unwanted excess paint can then simply be erased.
