A Illuminated Picture Story for the Picture Stage

An illuminated "picture book" by Daniela Drescher in 10 picture cards, tailored to fit the slide table stage by MeiArt. An educationally valuable alternative to films. Here the eye can rest on the picture.
The change from image to image is deliberately carried out carefully, with the new motif slowly being pushed in front of the previous one and only then being pulled out from under the new one. This creates a beautiful fade-in effect as a transition.

    Frequently asked questions about Seccorell®

Welcome to our colorful world! Whether you're just discovering the magic of our finger painting technique or you're already experienced: Here you'll find answers to help you with your creations.
What began in 2007 as a family project by Claudia and Thomas Kinzler, we continue today as the family-run MeiArt GmbH in Reutlingen with the same enthusiasm. Our goal is to bridge the gap between watercolor and pastel painting, connecting mind, heart, and hand through creative activity. A little more color for the world. Enjoy discovering and creating!

    1. The special features of the finger-wiping technique

    What makes Seccorell so unique?
Seccorell is a unique technique that bridges the gap between watercolor and pastel painting. Its special feature is the creation of the finest color pigments from solid sticks, which are then worked directly into the painting surface with the fingers. This works entirely without water or chemical fixatives.

In which areas is Seccorell used?
These sets are ideal for creating activity books in schools (especially Waldorf schools), for therapeutic purposes such as sensory training, and for hobbyists. Since no elaborate studio setup is required, painting can be done cleanly anywhere.

What educational effects does Seccorell have?
Working directly with their fingers promotes fine motor skills and an awareness of their own body geography. Through the conscious application and rubbing of pigments, children learn to treat materials with respect: something is rubbed (destroyed) in order to create something entirely new with their own strength.

Where do the products come from?
Seccorell originates from our German manufactory, MeiArt GmbH, in Reutlingen. The brand was founded in 2007 by Thomas and Claudia Kinzler and is protected by the German Patent and Trademark Office as well as throughout Europe.

    2. Creative Application & Color Mixing

How does the technique work without water and brushes?
Create artwork in four simple steps: First, rub the paint on the rubbing block. Second, brush out the pigments with the small brush. Third, blend with your fingers, and fourth, polish with a cotton pad for smudge resistance. A brush is not needed, as your fingers are the most important tool.

Are there limits to color mixing?
No. All rainbow colors, as well as shades of brown and gray, can be created from the three primary colors red, blue, and yellow by layering or mixing the powder directly on the paper.

Can I work flexibly on my images?
Yes. Paintings don't have to be finished in one go. You can continue painting at any time as long as the surface isn't completely saturated from polishing. After each application of paint, simply clean the rubbing block briefly with the brush.

    3. Substrates: Paper and more

What is the ideal painting surface?
Basically, any paper that can be colored with colored pencils is suitable, as long as it's not varnish-like and smooth. Colors appear shinier on fine-pored paper, while they look more matte and intense on coarse paper.

How is the luminosity on different backgrounds?
The high pigment density even allows for the creation of night scenes. Light colors can be layered over darker shades, or highlights can be easily brought out with a conventional eraser.

    What materials besides paper work?
Seccorell adheres excellently to untreated wood, stones such as pebbles or plaster, as well as to clay, eggshells, shells, and even canvas or light-colored feathers. Only varnish-like smooth surfaces or very smooth tracing paper, on which the pigments cannot adhere, are unsuitable.

    4. Safety, cleaning and durability

Are the colors skin-friendly and safe?
Yes. Seccorell paints are completely skin-friendly, harmless to health, and non-toxic. This makes them ideal for children and for therapeutic applications. Because the paint powder is massaged directly into the painting surface, no loose paint clouds or dust are produced in the air.

How do I keep my workplace clean?
To keep your workspace clean, we recommend using a newspaper or scrap paper. Excess powder can simply be wiped onto it and rubbed in immediately.

Can the colors be washed out of clothes and off hands?
Should any dye get onto clothing, the pigments can be easily removed in a normal machine wash. Any dye residue on your fingers is completely harmless and can be easily cleaned with soap and water or moist cosmetic wipes.

Are the images smudge-proof without the use of chemicals?
Yes. By thoroughly applying the pigment and then polishing it with a cotton pad, the image becomes as smudge-proof as a colored pencil drawing. A fixative spray is not necessary. The mineral pigments also possess excellent lightfastness and will not fade.

    5. Sustainability and the different sets

    Is there a refill service?
Yes. Seccorell is a companion for many years. To guarantee the longevity of your set, you can purchase every stick, tool, and accessory individually at any time. This way, your set always remains complete and grows with your needs.

Which set is the right one for my project?
We offer Seccorell in various grades:

    • Basic paint boxes (8 colors): Our compact classics like Mini, Scola, Pocket, or Rondo are ideal for beginners or for school.
    • Chroma (16 colors): The versatile link with an extended color spectrum in a robust metal box.
    • Large boxes for studio and atelier (24 colors): The full selection for artists who want to exploit the full potential of the technology.

What about the choice of materials?
Wherever possible, we use sustainable materials: from the durable metal box to the eco-friendly insert made of molded fiber paper, we avoid plastics. Since we haven't yet found an ideal plastic-free alternative for protecting the individual drawing pads, we currently use a film, but we are already working on a better solution. Thanks to our international presence, we are a reliable partner for schools and studios throughout Europe.
