SCHOOLS AND PEDAGOGY

Experience holistic learning

Painting with Seccorell does not require a complex studio setup. Since neither water jars, brushes, nor fixative sprays are needed, main lesson books or copies can be beautifully designed on almost any type of paper. In pedagogy, the finger-wipe technique offers three central fields of practice for holistic development.

Head

Forward Planning
Dosing the color pigments requires a good sense of judgment. How much color powder do I really need? Children learn to anticipate quantities and handle their resources mindfully.

Heart

Creative Transformation
Rubbing color sticks into fine powder satisfies a basic human need. Something existing is consciously transformed to create something entirely new through one’s own power. This process strengthens self-confidence in one's own creative capacity.

Hand

Immediate experience
Direct skin contact creates a deep connection to the image. Painting with all fingers trains the basic senses and fine motor skills. Simple exercises like asking "Which finger is next?" playfully promote body awareness and concentration.

Understanding the World
In third grade, the focus is on exploring traditional trades. Through house building, farming, or blacksmithing, children experience firsthand how simple materials are transformed into meaningful objects through their own actions. This epoch offers insights into ancient arts and provides a completely new understanding of the practical world.

Capturing Experiences Artistically
Whether tools, work processes, or self-made objects: Seccorell allows these motifs to be recorded easily and effectively in the main lesson book. In this way, practical experience becomes a creative memory that sustainably deepens the understanding of and connection to one’s own activity.

The finger-wipe technique is forgiving of uncertainties. While hard lines often feel restrictive, the soft areas of color allow each student to achieve an aesthetically pleasing result that makes them proud of their own main lesson book.

4th grade

Zoology

Sharpen your focus
In fourth grade, students begin studying the natural world, focusing on the animal kingdom. The octopus serves as an example of a highly sensitive creature that perceives its surroundings with its entire body and reacts directly to its environment.

Making the essence visible
Seccorell allows this unique quality to be impressively depicted. The painting technique makes it possible to sensitively capture the floating lightness of water and its flowing movements on paper. Delicate color gradients and lighting effects enhance the artistic experience.

This creates a vibrant connection to nature, where sensory perception and content-based learning are naturally intertwined.

combining painting techniques

The soft Seccorell backgrounds form the ideal basis for mixed media techniques and can be wonderfully complemented with colored pencils or crayons.

Botany
5th grade

Botany

In fifth grade, students encounter the plant world in all its diversity. Their journey leads from simple moss to fully developed flowering plants. The dandelion serves as a shining example of radiance and joie de vivre within this botanical unit.

Making metamorphosis visible
The development of the plant from delicate bud to translucent blossom can be depicted with particular sensitivity using this special wiping technique. Because the pigments are worked directly into the paper, a deep understanding of organic forms and the vibrant growth of nature is created.

Designing light and structure
Seccorell can make subtle light gradients and the characteristic shape of the dandelion immediately tangible. Expressive images are created directly in the main lesson book. The technique allows for a sensitive approach to nature, harmoniously combining scientific accuracy and artistic enjoyment.

A free approach to colors can allow children to express their own inner images and thus develop a lasting connection to the learning material.

6th grade

Story

The world of antiquity
In sixth grade, the focus shifts to the civilizations of antiquity. The story of the Trojan War serves as an exemplary illustration of the clash between willpower and moral conflict. During this phase of children's emerging inner distancing from their surroundings, these heroic sagas help them find their own identity and understand the origins of law and order in cultural history.

The search for identity
Andrea Reiß has impressively brought the scene surrounding the Trojan Horse to life with her Seccorell technique. This painting method allows her to sensitively capture the atmospheric effects of light and shadow on the battlefields or the imposing walls of Troy in this main lesson book. Delicate color gradients and precise details enhance the imagery and bring the story to life.

Create powerful scenes
Working directly with pigments strengthens students' ability to act creatively, while they connect artistically with major events in human history. This fosters a deeper understanding of the past, where their own creative process paves the way for an understanding of the foundations of our culture.

Individual support

Beyond its use in traditional teaching, Seccorell can also be used in therapeutic processes, as its fine texture and rhythmic application of color have a calming and ordering effect.

Surveying
10th grade

Surveying

Seccorell proves its worth as a functional tool when creating field survey maps. Individual areas can be easily and quickly color-coded. This allows for a clear and rapid differentiation between fields, arable land, forests, and paths.

Precision and cleanliness
Clean and colorfast site plans are produced entirely without water or fixative spray, retaining their clarity even with intensive use. This technique helps combine mathematical precision with high design quality without the paper warping or colors smudging.

Practical tip for setting
After applying the colors, it is recommended to wipe the surfaces with a cotton pad to permanently fix the pigments. Any unwanted excess can then be easily erased. This is a great advantage, especially with technical drawings, to achieve clean edges and precise transitions.
